Pilgrim Ship, 2000


Pilgrim Ship was made using a bisque mold as a cradle to support the form while it was being built. It was dipped in oxide and glaze washes and then fired to cone six in an electric kiln.

This was the sixth annual event for the Golden Ceramics Awards in Taipei Taiwan and it coincided with the opening of The Taipei County Yingko Ceramics Museum. There were 759 entries from 52 countries. 151 functional and sculptural pieces were chosen from 33 countries. There were 9 pieces exhibited from Canada.
